Very cold temperatures today with snow expected tonight

BOISE, Idaho — It is extremely cold this morning! Temperatures are sitting in the single digits this morning with much of the valley enduring below zero wind chill. As of 4 a.m. this morning, the wind chill in Boise is -7 degrees.

High temperatures will only reach the high teens today. Look for partly cloudy skies this morning followed by cloudy skies this evening. A front off the California coast will impact our region tonight. Advisories are in effect for most of Southwest Idaho.

The valley can expect 2-4 inches of snow through Wednesday morning. 5-10 inches is expected in mountain valleys with 8-20 inches possible at higher elevations.

Look for widespread snow tonight into early Wednesday morning. This will likely be followed by scattered rain and snow showers into Wednesday evening.

The upcoming front will bring milder air to the region that should quickly warm temperatures back above average as soon as Thursday. Highs will likely be in the mid-30s tomorrow.
